3. Mister gee burger truck – truffle burger – beef pattie, caramelised onion, american cheese, pickles and secret sauce.
So I went here not realising that the signature burger was not on sale. Make sure you check their instagram before going as you may get disappointed as they only sell one burger on the night. I mean all the others are good but if you want the best from this food truck get this one. The truffle mayo is the secret sauce. Wonderfully made secret for the whole world to taste.. maybe just Sydney actually. Don’t be fooled by being just a food truck. When you take that first bite it will keep making you want more and more and more. Juicy, melting perfection of all the ingredients… however as I said earlier… it’s the sauce that gets you! It ain’t no normal sauce… oily mayo type of aoli sauce. It doesn’t taste heavy, it tastes light so you can keep going and going. Wow. You won’t regret it.

2. Five points – Bronx burger – grilled beef pattie, double cheese, bacon, onion Jam, tomato sauce, pickles, American mustard, aoli, lettuce.
Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of the burger. Simple yet perfect. I’m actually quite surprised by this burger. I mean if you read the ingredients in the menu nothing kinda stands out. Just simple ingredients, mixed perfectly and cooked wonderfully. The milk buns tops it off. Medium rare beef pattie with the right amount of sauce. Not too dry not too soggy. Melted cheese really melts in your mouth. Juicy with the first bite. Juicy with the second bite. You just can’t get enough of this burger. P.s put some Siracha sauce on it for an extra kick. Hmmm…. just do it.

Yo yo yo yo…… just want to give some shout out to the top 3 burgers in town (IMO)! Some of yall may think I’m crazyyyy but it is what it is.. been around the world to eat burgers but that’s for another post, another time. So here it is. My top 3. Don’t judge me. Don’t hate me.
1. Bar luca – Blame Canada – BL beef pattie, maple glazed streaky bacon, American cheese and poutine.
My oh my… legit number one in sydney. Why? Let me tell you why. I’m gonna keep it simple, short and sweet. First of all, the meat, medium rare and juicy. When you take that first bite it literally just melts in your mouth. You can taste the smokiness which is something that I dig. The bacon. What a pig. Chewy and glazed with maple syrup. Ain’t no traditional bacon taste. The sweetness is to die for. The poutine. I have no idea what it was but dayummmmmmmmm it’s so good! So apparently its fries mixed with cheese curds topped with gravy. I have no idea how to make it but I’m gonna find out. Genius! It’s like having fries in your burger. Kill 2 birds with one stone. The whole flavour in your mouth just works so well together. Please try it! I’m begging you.

I love american food/bbq and I heard that this place was really good. Tracked it all the way here after an AFL game. The place was pretty neat, simple setup with white chairs. One thing I noticed as soon as we walked in the restaurant was the smell… hmmmm smoked american bbq meat smell. So good!
It wasn’t packed at all, I think it is because we came quite early. There weren’t too many tables either. Anyways to the food! I ordered the pork ribs, mac and cheese and kipfler potatoes.
When the food came out it looked so good! However the taste, I have to say I was disappointed. The pork ribs were ….different… it wasn’t juicy nor saucey nor tender… it was dry…. really dry.. that is because that’s the style of cooking the chef made for this specific dish. Unfortunately for me it was a miss. The mac n cheese was nothing special, it was more chewy and plasticy, no flavouring at all, the potatoes too were just plain nothing special. Real gutted as I heard so many good things about this place.
Maybe I just picked the wrong dishes… I saw the burgers on the other hand and man they look amazing. When I get back down to Melbourne I will definitely try the burgers!
Just before an ANZAC AFL game thought it would be good to feed off fatty burgers… heard about 1090 burgers as it was close by. We arrived at burger place and it wasn’t packed, which was good! (As all other places were packed in the area due to the game). Cash only FYI.
Easy and simple menu, if you’re indecisive when choosing food it’s your lucky day! Ordered the Thunder burger – double patty with bacon and chilli mayo and salted caramel milkshake.
I have to say the burger was really good! It was juicy, fatty, cheesy and delicious! Bacon were crispy and sticky, the chilli mayo was not that spicy however there was a little kick to the taste (it tastes like mayo wit a little bit of chilli and mixed with melted cheese). It was a little bit too salty due to the generosity of the sauce for my liking, but other than that it was really good! If you don’t want the burger too salty just tell them not to put too much sauce.
The salted caramel milkshake… hmmmm.. so nice and cold! Thick and creamy milk shakes are my favourite and this one was it! You can taste the Salted caramel and surprisingly it wasn’t too sweet. On a hot day you should order one… or heck even in winter… even better!
Overall, must try if you are around Richmond area!
One of the best gelato places I’ve ever been to!!! Like really… I had the pandan and green tea flavours… wooowwww…so smooth, creamy and soft!! It wasn’t overly sweet nor overpowering with a single ingredient. Everything gelled so well together! The definition of refreshing gelato! Must go if you are around this area. You can always try all the flavours if you’d like. The servers were heaps nice and prices are not too expensive either.. however it doesn’t matter about the price when you’re paying for quality gelato!
Shall be back….
I initially thought the cafe was upstairs and later found out after going up it was the bar.. haha! The cafe by day and restaurant by night had an open floor with all the tables in the middle. Plain and simple vibe.
It was quite busy when we arrived. Waitress that served us was quite nice. I had the Shaksouka which was baked eggs with roasted peppers and shanklish… no idea what that is but the the dish pretty much tasted like eggs, tomato and cheese. Melbourne love their baked eggs. I think the dish was OK. Wouldn’t say it was the best egg dish that I ever had. CAUTION – the pan is freaking hot! I burnt my arm accidentally leaning on it. 😦 I also had a coffee – now… I am not a coffee drinker nor do I critique coffee but man when I drank it was so smooth and … nice… all I can say is that it was good! And last but not least I ordered a Canele which was a burnt caramel mini muffin dessert. Really good! Must order if you can… sticky and chewy caramel coating around the small looking muffin and moist in the inside. Just perfect.
I have to say it was quite pricey. That is the only downside. I hear this place is known for its dinner though. I shall come back next time and check it out!
