I initially thought the cafe was upstairs and later found out after going up it was the bar.. haha! The cafe by day and restaurant by night had an open floor with all the tables in the middle. Plain and simple vibe.
It was quite busy when we arrived. Waitress that served us was quite nice. I had the Shaksouka which was baked eggs with roasted peppers and shanklish… no idea what that is but the the dish pretty much tasted like eggs, tomato and cheese. Melbourne love their baked eggs. I think the dish was OK. Wouldn’t say it was the best egg dish that I ever had. CAUTION – the pan is freaking hot! I burnt my arm accidentally leaning on it. 😦 I also had a coffee – now… I am not a coffee drinker nor do I critique coffee but man when I drank it was so smooth and … nice… all I can say is that it was good! And last but not least I ordered a Canele which was a burnt caramel mini muffin dessert. Really good! Must order if you can… sticky and chewy caramel coating around the small looking muffin and moist in the inside. Just perfect.
I have to say it was quite pricey. That is the only downside. I hear this place is known for its dinner though. I shall come back next time and check it out!
